From Rio de Janeiro to Los Angeles...
Lorena is a Brazilian filmmaker and a USC School of Cinematic Arts alum. During her tenure, she had the pleasure of being mentored by industry professional Dr. Drew Casper.
Driven by a passion for all things cinema, she has sought out work in a variety of mediums, from commercials to music videos, documentaries to shorts, and finally feature films.
Lorena has enjoyed some successes as director, including the acceptance of the short film, “Pedagogy” (2015), into the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival and the acceptance of the short film "Joy" (2018) into several festivals worldwide as well as winning an Award of Merit from IndieFest. She was also an associate producer for the award-winning Brazilian film "Boca" (2011).
Amongst Lorena's other credits, she has acted as the production coordinator and post supervisor for the Emmy-Winning and Academy Award nominated documentary filmmaking team, Chain Camera Pictures, helmed by Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick. She also acted as the creative assistant to the DreamWorks feature film "Thank You For Your Service", produced by Steven Spielberg and written and directed by Academy Award nominee, Jason Hall. She has also provided research and consultation for companies such as Condé Nast Entertainment and her most recent work, "Joy" is currently out to festivals.
